Pictorial Review...

 The chat still isn't flowing, so here's some more pictures of the last week or so.

We went to Bristol and I brought this fella, he's made by the lady behind mmm biscuits and I have called him Basil...because I am an almost 26 year old who still has to give everything a name.

This part of the studio wall is dedicated to my new collection...which is titles 'metal things to hang on the wall next to my light switch'

A close up of Basil's face...which i think is quite lovely.

Newly thrifted vintage fabric...i'm thinking i'll make a limited run of plush from it...especially the horse....but not the clown...he's creepy.

my computer desk chair...which used to be in a hairdressers...until they threw it out and I picked it up off the street.

I brought some new sandals and i like them a lot. Today I wore them with socks...which I have heard is a big no no...nevertheless I did it.

An 8.30 shot of the sewing desk...I was busy sewing up a full series of Weirdy Beardy's...which i delivered today.

Here are said Weirdy Beardy's...with their brains hanging out because I hadn't sewn them up when I took the picture.

I have decided to cover the two tone floor boards in the studio with lots of different rugs, so i was quite pleased to score this animal hyde rug (i think it was some sort of long haired creature...perhaps a goat) in the charity shop. Normally fur is a big no no to me (i once handed back a lady her fur coat when i worked in a cloak room because I couldn't bare to touch it) but I'm fairly sure this is a by-product, meaning the animal wasn't killed purely for its fur. My apologies if me purchasing the rug offends anyone.

Our ever increasing collection of pictures above our bed. The far right and far left pictures were given to us by a dear friend and I love them. He recently went to the hadron collider for an interesting project.

StuffedNonsense will be making baby mobile's soon, here's the first mock up..I like it a lot.

A Request...

Hello out there.

Some of you may know that we both work in a pub called The Swan.

We're helping to organize a little Pop Up Pub Fair at The Swan on June the 2nd. Here's where my request comes in...if there are any local people out there living in the land of the Cotswolds would you mind telling all of your lovely friends and family about a super dooper Pop Up Pub Fair that will be full of bunting and good old fashioned fun.

Cheltenham town centre is dire need of some help...there are just under 60 empty units (I think). We think that events like this will be the start of something exciting, a chance for some of the many talented creative people to get there work out there and in front of the lovely people of Cheltenham and the Cotswolds.

So pleeeeeeease spread the word. If you think you might be interested in a stall follow the link to the blog and there's more info about applying there!

Pictorial Review.

Big succulents...most of mine are tiny compared to these.

In an attempt to be more organised and (ahem) professional I spent a large portion of my week sifting through the scrap basket and cutting out Human Bean body fabric...the idea being that when we get an order the whole process will be more stream lined as half the work is done in advance...fingers crossed.

I finally finished my 'light shade' for the studio, I'm fairly sure it looks like it belongs in a 5year old's bedroom but I like it so they you are. (the crochet flowers were provided by the talented Vicki from Lilley Stitches.)

This picture sits on my computer desk and always makes me smile without fail. It's of me and Arthur (he's the one with the beard) when we went to Brighton a few weeks back...happy happy memories.

This is the print in the background of the previous picture, I treated myself to it last week, it's supposed to go in our bedroom but it seems to have gotten waylaid. LesChosesImprimees is full of lovely things...perhaps you should take a look?

We get an Abel&Cole vegetable box delivered every week, this week they sent us an abundance of Cherry Tomatoes so we made Brushetta for lunch...it really was quite delicious!

An Ode To Camera's

Hello there, here's another 'Ode To'. you know when you have those days when you just don't feel chatty...well we're having a few of those...one after the other; and you know those days when you really need to sew up orders but you just can't get into it and you think that everything you sew isn't quite right...well we're having a few of those...one after the other. So please excuse the temporary lull in communications, we're busy reading all the answers to 'how do you get out of your creative ruts?' over on the Etsy featured seller interviews. Love this print by Amy Walters, she was at one of the crafty Fox's we went to...I brought a brooch with a man with a big quiff on it...and a beard. Her shops lovely, go look...if you fancy it.

this sweet little brooch is by ladybirdlikes...we also met her at a Crafty Fox...I brought a wooden paper plane necklace from her, her shop is jam packed full of loveliness.

New In The Shop...

 Sooo we've listed rather a lot of new stuff on the etsy shop, and we thought maybe you guys might like to know about it...

A few new Human Beans including this rather cute little lady.

These Sweet Cheeks are regular stock at craft fairs but for some reason this is the first time they've made it into the etsy shop...either way, I think they are rather cute.

A Rather Busy Thursday.

 Hello dearest followers. Sorry for the small gap in communications,we had a few craft fairs and Easter to struggle through but we're back  in fine form.

We spent all day yesterday re-stocking our Etsy and Folksy shops. The both of us morphed into some sort of crazy efficient team...El took the Photos and I listed the items, as a result the Etsy shop shelves are groaning under the sheer weight of handmade wonders...The Folksy shop needs a bit more work but there's the weekend for that...right?

Anyways, El took some snaps of my studio in between product photos

This is Clyde, he's a good friends dog that I look after 3/4 times a week...he doesn't normally look this sad.

His favourite place to sit is on the lap of the person who's using the computer (he's not fussy as to who's using the computer...as long as they have a lap) He's quite the internet whiz dont'cha know.

Please excuse the grubby light switch, there was a sticker on it when we first moved in and it's left it's mark.

You can see my wall of bird in the background here...and unfortunately you can see me in a rather grubby day off from work outfit.

Jars of stuff...buttons, scrabble tokens, ribbons, fuzzy felts etc

Did I mention I collect Playmobil figures?...it's a growing to be a genuine issue.

And this is the view from my studio window. There's been some crazy weather in the U.K. at the moment and Cheltenham has been no exception, we've had some rather beautiful clouds hanging around...these ones are no exception!
