Hello....Are You Still Out There??

People, People, People....
We apologise for a stupidly long absence from this little space. our only excuse is that we have been insanely busy. It turns out that if you run a shop (stocked mainly with your own hand made items), do two craft fairs (within a week of each other), try and buy, wrap and post off peoples Christmas presents, make a big pile of custom orders AND work a part time job all at the same it kind of takes up a lot of your day. But fear not! we think we are back on the ball. prepare yourself for a marathon post!! Where shall we start.
We mentioned on a previous post that we were going to be at a local craft fair organised by the lovely people behind Fear Of Butterflies .It went fantastically well, and was well worth the hard work we put in.We think the stall looks lovely.

A week after this lovely event we were at another lovely craft fair in Bristol organised by Fran and the other lovely people behind Bristol Folk House . This event was soooooo much fun. if any of you are local (or planning to visit there anytime soon) then we strongly recommend that you pop into their cafe because it is super cool!(there was a man drinking coffee from a huge mug whilst playing the piano...we need say no more!) However to get ready for this super event we had to pull a little bit of an all nighter at the shop the day before...Yep, that's Arthur stepping up to the mark making badges.A Red Long Legged Monkey, comics for badges, and bags of buttons for jewellery. And here are some of the fruits of our labours, there's only to of these guys left now!! We clean forgot to take any pictures of the stall in Bristol, it went so well and there soo many people there that we didn't really get a chance.

Right, what next?

Custom orders...Finished today we have...

A Skull Cushion (with a pocket at the back), we love its pink bow. We made two of these for the lovely Roxy (one of our bestest customers)A grumpy Persian Cat made for a customer. El's quite taken with this little guy. We also made, but forgot to photograph, 3 cushions and an apron!

Well we reckons that's probably as much StuffedNonsense as we can cram down your throats for a Saturday evening. If you've made it this far we will reward you...

We think its about time we had a little giveaway at the shop...a little Christmas present/ new year present for our loyal followers. All you have to do is leave a comment telling us what you would custom order from StuffedNonsense and you could be in with the chance of winning your custom order in real life 3D!!! You've got until this time next week to get your entry in!! This could be fun!!

Right...time for a blanket and a snooze on the sofa!

This Week In Our Shop...

Hello lovelies, How are you all?
We've had a busy week at the shop...furious stitching all over the place! We know we've mentioned that we are doing a craft fair in Bristol (Bristol Folk House) Well the other day a lovely lady came in and asked us if we wanted to do this craft fair in one of the local university campus's on the 3rd of December...it looks great so we've jumped on bored. Now we have loooooaaaadssss of work to do but it will all be worth it! So with the 3rd of December nipping at our heels we managed to make...

Lots more plumps, this time there are stripy ones!Lots of fabric cuff braceletsAnd these guys....now we're not sure what these are so we have decided to call them cat rabbits...imaginative isn't it! they all have moustaches too...just to make them even stranger!Sorry this picture isn't the right way round.... we cant seem to turn it around on the computer. but these are new coin purses, they have a tape measure sewn onto either side of them. There are another two made but we had run out of tape measures so they have fabric panels and ribbon instead. We also made (but didn't photograph 10 quote brooches and 3 tell tails!) We aren't going to list any of these on Folksy but if there are any of them you like then please let us know!

We re-arranged things a little bit today and made space for a new display we are going to do every month at the shop...a featured seller. Decembers one is going to be Bagladee. Emma has been in the shop for a few months now and we are pleased to be selling her lovelies to the folks of Cheltenham. Watch this space we will have an interview and more pictures for you next week!

Righto, time to go and fall asleep on the sofa! (we've had quite a few extra hours at our day jobs...blooming new moon making it busy! so we are both shattered!)

Wish List Wednesday...

We've recently found ourselves in awe of the wonders available on the Internet, and have decided that we think it is only fair to let you lovely people know about said wonders. Sooooooo, we've came up with our first regular feature on our little blog (prepare yourself for a tacky name...drum roll please)
WISH LIST WEDNESDAY...(Taaaaadaaaaahhhhh)
Fingers crossed every Wednesday we hope to entertain and delight you with the treasures we have found on the world wide web. How does that sound??
Righto....
NUMBER ONE
the wonderful talent of Kate Wilson, would you look at her folksy shop, little doodles. We don't want to be naughty bloggers so we're not going to copy a picture from her shop in case she would rather us not to, but if you go and have a look at our facebook page there's a link to little doodles shop and a little picture came up there...or you could go and check out her shop for yourselves....go on its only a small step and we guarantee that you wont be disappointed. Her little birds are to die for...we are quite taken with George and his aspirations to be an Iced Gem. We think that Kate's eye for detail and unique style are timeless and we've added every item in her shop onto our Christmas list!!Check out her blog too...this lady has style!!
NUMBER TWO
Some of you bloggers may have heard of Pip Lincolne and her blog (and shop!) called Meet Me At Mikes. Well a while back this immensely talented lady wrote and book called Meet Me At Mikes: 26 Fun and Crafty Projects. We haven't manage to get our paws on this book but if it is anything Pips blog we are sure you wont be disappointed. Lots of the projects were contributed by other lovely Australian bloggers and there blog addresses are at the back of the book which is great. You've got to love the blogs haven't you?! Our conclusion is that you should probably buy this book and be inspired by the photography and the super cool projects inside its lovely pages!
NUMBER THREE
Lastly but by no means least we want to talk to you about the wonders of Richard Scarry. Richard Scarry was an Illustrator and writer, sadly he passed away in 1994. The way this man draws is wonderful, the colours are simply fantastic and the way that the animals he draws are so life like yet so simple is great!(Bex has a copy of one of his books and its one of her most prized possessions! )Here's a few examples for you...

Cool Huh?
Right peeps, that's it for the first ever Wish List Wednesday....we must leave now so that we can find more lovely things for next Wednesday!!
Speak to you soon

New Visitors!...

Hello!
Hope your drying out, the weathers been terrible hasn't it? We didn't let that stop us at the shop. We've been sewing like furious demons!!! Hmmmm where to start....These guys are as good a place as any...
New creations in the shape of Tell Tails. We thought that our monsters could do with a refresh and this is what we (well more El really!) came up with. This little guys are seriously cute. We think they are like friendly godzillas what with their long spikey tail and all! El's just finished listing two of these little tykes on Folksy.
When we're tucked away up in the shop we often find ourselves wondering and pondering over many things. Well today we found ourselves wondering and pondering...'If StuffedNonsense made pigeons...what would they look like??' Well ladies and gentlemen...here is your answer...

We are quite pleased with them and have fallen a little bit in love with the confused looking flowery one (looking especially confused in the first picture!)

Lets see...what else? Oh....new brooches...

With some funky fabrics and quotes on them, El's just finished listing the 'Smile' one and the 'Oops Up Side Your Head' one on Folksy as well. These were fun to make, but next time we're going to make sure we've written some quotes down...when we came to trying to remember some our minds went annoyingly blank!

As we are on the Jewellery front Bex played with these...

And made these...

So overall...a pretty productive week!!

Thought we would finish this post off with a sprinkling of new photos of StuffedNonsense...

That's all for this week guys!!!

Speak Soon

This Internet is a Wonderful Invention Isn't it?..

Hello dearies,
this is just a very short note to let you know that we think this Internet malarkey really rocks....perhaps we should explain some more...
if it wasn't for the Internet StuffedNonsense would never have taken its first tentative steps into the selling world...
if it wasn't for the Internet we would not be inspired daily by the wonderful creations out there...
if it wasn't for the Internet we would not be able to get in touch with such crazily talented people like yourselves...
If it wasn't for the Internet we would miss out on opportunities to win gorgeous goodies like this simply divine Red Racoon Brooch which Olly is having a give away for. Fantastic isn't it!? For those of you that haven't seen Olly's work before...welcome aboard...we think it is super fantastic.
Anyways...
Its late, we've been at work all day and tomorrow is a wonderful day of shop...
see you soon

Comings,Goings,Stitchings and What Nots...

Hello Hello Hello.
Hope you guys are all ok.
Have you been to any lovely firework displays? There was a party at Bex's house on the 5th of November...it was fun but there may have been one or two sore heads at the shop on Friday! We didn't let that stop us tho'....
This little stripey monkey was fresh off the machine today. El is quite the master of monkey creations. Hes not for sale just yet because we saving him for the craft fair. El also created a starry Bob and a crazy new black and red creation with the meanest side fringe (pictures to come soon!!) We are going to try our hardest to be super organised and have lots of lovely stock for the fair so our stall looks lovely! If you follow us over here and intend to stroll (or drive...its in Bristol after all) down, please say hello! Who knows...maybe you'll get a little discount?? (well we know.....and you will....hehehehe)
We also popped some new creations into our folksy shop.
Up on the web now you have....

Lionel the Disco Loving Lion...Boy! does this guy know how to dance!! He's been with us a while now so we thought we might let him stretch his long legs onto the wonderful world of the Internet.

We've also got this seriously cute long legged monkey. We've both fallen a little bit in love with this fella, but rather than keep him for ourselves we thought we'd give you the chance to hug him!

Also, finished but not photographed today were 6 fabric cuffs and 5 button strand necklaces!
Ohhh, we nearly forgot...we entered the folksy Upcycle Competition a while back, and today we finally listed our entry...

A Trio Of Winter Owls. They are made from a pair of lovely 98% wool trousers and a selection of lovely men's shirts. They also stack on top of each other too!The other items people have all ready listed all look super good and its for a very good cause, hopefully we can raise a few pennies for SueRyder.

Anyways....time to retire to the sofa!

Until next week followers!

This Weeks Comings and Goings...

Alright everyone? How are you all this rather damp day??
Things have been ticking along nicely in our little shop; and we have some newly acquired furniture....
How seriously cool is the little school desk and seat? Also...please note the superfantastic 'Selick' and 'Cute Shoes' on the top of the desk from one of new sellers called Laura Bath. We also picked up some seriously exciting brackets (we know how to live it up big around these parts!) but the brackets mean that we can have a few more shelves up and about the place which makes a difference.
We also had a new seller drop off her lovelies today, Jane Roberts. She makes lovely woolly hats and shawls as you can see
We also drew this months giveaway...well we say we but we were helped by our ohh so glamorous and bearded assistant Arthur. This months winner is...

Fran Lethbridge...Congratulations lady we will post out your parcel soon...Although with the strikes it might be a little bit late!

Righto, its five o'clock now which means StuffedNonsense is going to close its doors for a few days....until then lovely followers!

Hello Out There?....

Hi there lovely followers. How are you all this morning? Well we hope?
Anyway, on with today's news....
We've just finished a rather long Folksy listing so our interweb shop is full to the brim with stuffednonsense...
A rather cute small Insideoutter...A medium Insideoutter (we like her button eyes!)A whole wealth of Plumps...look at them! we are a little bit in love with them all!A super small and super cute little Plump...hes sooooo small!!These guys are new for the winter. They are called Warm Thoughts...they come with their own instructions and the idea is that they help you think of lovely warm things. They are great for anyone who doesn't like the cold, we also think that they are perfect for someone who's having a tough time of it too..!

We hate to mention the dreaded 'C' word this early but we have been stitching away at some lovely Christmas goodies...some cards with wonderful embroidered panels on them...

StuffedNonsense's take on Christmas Baubles...on two of them you can see the elusive Christmas Bird.

A rather nice Reindeer Christmas Decoration...

We are also working on some new embroidered pictures which will be up for sale once we have sorted out the frames and what not!

The lovely Eunice from Diamond Lollipop and Alex from InkAnder also popped into the shop on the weekend just gone and left us with some more lovelies...

Bex has grown a little bit attached to the smaller mushroom pincushion at the back...

Righto...its time to bugger off because the shop opens in a little bit!

See you soon..

New Comings and Goings....

Hi there! How goes it with you guys? We thought we would delight you with some pictures of the last week dans en StuffedNonsense.
After a trip to Cardiff we returned with a lovely rug which we think brightens up the floor no end! what do you think?
We think that this weeks plushies look very cosy on it!
We finally found a big standing lamp in a local charity shop. we thought that we would have to find a new shade for it but once we got it into the shop we thought that it could be very handy for attaching El's postcards onto!
In other news...
Cloth Magazine is now available in our small but ohh so perfectly formed shop (did we mention that we are the only place in Cheltenham you can get this super fantastic magazine?) ohhh yeah, we nearly forgot...watch out for a little StuffedNonsense tutorial in the next issue (exciting isn't it!)
A future supplier to the shop also popped in with a few prints for us. Here's one of them...

Fancy aren't they?? you cant really see it here but the shading is done with individual pen strokes...I'm in awe of how this guy manages to draw like this! check out his website at crixonillustration.com

And last but by no means least, we met a young man who is helping to organise an art and design collective in Cheltenham. it is called Fear of Butterflies. Fingers crossed StuffedNonsense will be able to get involved!!
Righto, that's all for this week!
See you soon!
